Vocal Recipes for All Styles and Personalities
Early childhood Music class
At the nursery from 2 months - 2 years
Between 2 months and 2 years old, children are hypersensitive to their environments. It’s about gently opening them to the outside world and stimulating their senses, particularly through active listening. Exploring noises and textures, discovering sounds, reproducing them, expressing oneself freely, are activities that will allow for little ones to develop not only their artistic sensitivity, and their musical ear, but also to contribute to their overall development (psychomotor skills).
The program :
*Rhymes told and sung, with or without instrumental accompaniment
*Songs of gestures
*Shaking, knocking or rubbing percussion;
*Mystery sounds to listen to and touch
*Sound exploration on the stomach (for babies who hold their heads)
*Small orchestra/Instrumental awakening (from 2 years old)
In primary school from 6 - 10 years old
Between 6 and 10 years old, it is the time for self-affirmation. This is about allowing children to begin to appropriate codes and musical repertoires through their voices, their bodies and instrumental practice, with or without an instrument (body percussion or idiophones). For this age group, we offer turnkey music workshops that can be adapted to the wishes of your establishment and your teachers. When the sessions have followed the school calendar, feedback is offered if you wish so that families can see the work accomplished during the year. It may be necessary to provide an additional budget in line with the agreed project for possible costumes and sets. If the sessions were occasional, we suggest sharing with parents in the form of “open days”.
The program :
*World music singing and Body Percussion Workshop
*Musical Theater Workshop
In kindergarten 3 - 5 years old
Between 3 and 5 years old, children are in full creative turmoil. They now understand their bodies independently and are curious about everything.
Musical awakening focuses on active listening, socialization, and openness to the world and others. Together we develop their creativity, their imagination, and their free expression.
The program :
*Learning nursery rhymes with or without instrumental accompaniment
*Learning Songs
*Call and response games, Imitation games
*Discovery of musical instruments (Presentation, Listening, Quiz)
*Small orchestra/instrumental awakening

What happens during a session ?
The musical interventions offered by La Cuisine Vocale take place during school time, or extracurricular time (between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.), or extracurricular time (end of the last session 5:30 p.m.). Regardless of the age group of the children and the activities offered, musical interventions always begin with “welcome rituals” (hello songs, dynamic warm-ups, etc.) so that each child feels included. Depending on the children's effective concentration time, we will have fun through different activities allowing free or directed expression. In Music, the key word is “played”: Music is a recreation for children, and learning is always about “playfulness”.
We use a quality instrumentarium (small percussions made of wood, metal and skin, bat'toodoos, flute, ukulele, etc.), and accessories adapted to each age (scarves, paper or fabric to crinkle, small balls , puppets, stuffed animals, feathers, masks, etc...). Active musical listening can be offered to them to explore sound textures through danced or sung improvisations. The session always ends with a “Goodbye ritual”.
